DOUBLE STANDARDS IN THE MEDIA

This stage will include audio interviews discussing the most recent events occurring between Russia and Ukraine, and demonstrating how people on social media have taken action against the double standards that are occurring.I will be asking strangers what their knowledge is on both topics to compare how much media coverage they receive. The West has been criticised for imposing double standards on their attitudes towards the Israel - Palestine conflict, and Ukraine - Russia conflict.
The double standard is no longer a theoretical issue but an open show of hypocrisy by the international community, which did little to nothing to oppose the occupation of Palestinian territories. “The same activities and the same things that are taking place in Ukraine now, and people are being hailed as freedom fighters and patriots, [but] when Palestinians do it, they’re called terrorists and extremists.”
ANALYSING LANGUAGE
In this stage I have conducted small interviews and recorded my findings. I have asked orange of people general questions about two major conflicts occurring around the world at present.These were the Ukraine-Russian conflict and Palestine-Israel conflict. The answers varied. It signiied and emphasise the power of language and words in the media that may help or worsen a situation and influence people's viewpoints. I also analysed some influential comments on the matters like Irish MP Richard Barrett's speech in the Houses of Parliament.
MY FINDINGS
